The Arab Group at UNESCO called for the Organization to develop an action plan for the post-war period in Sudan to rehabilitate educational and cultural institutions and World Heritage sites affected by the war in the country, in addition to supporting women and girls, and reducing gender-based violence.

This came in a statement by the Arab Group before the meeting of the Executive Council of UNESCO at its 217th session today, October 10, in Paris.
The Group’s Statement expressed hope that the war in Sudan would end soon and that peace and stability would prevail throughout the country.
