Port Sudan: The Official Spokesman’s Platform

The President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, returned to the country this evening, after an official visit to Ethiopia that lasted one day, in response to an invitation from Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed.

He was received at Port Sudan Airport by the Minister of Minerals, Mohamed Bashir Namou, and the Secretary-General of the Sovereignty Council, Lieutenant General Mohamed Al-Ghali Ali Youssef.

During the visit, the President of the Sovereignty Council held bilateral discussions with the Ethiopian Prime Minister, which dealt with bilateral relations and ways to support the prospects for joint cooperation between Khartoum and Addis Ababa, and the situation in Sudan in particular and the Horn of Africa region in general.

The President of the Sovereignty Council was accompanied during the visit by the Designate Minister of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Ali Al-Sadiq, the Governor of the Darfur Region, Minni Arko Minawi, and the Director of the General Intelligence Authority, Lieutenant General Ahmed Ibrahim Mufaddal.
