Mr. Ambassador Ali Al-Sadiq, Minister of Foreign Affairs, held a telephone conversation on October 10, 2023, with Mr. Mikhail Baghdanov, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister, the Special Envoy of the Russian President for the Middle East and Africa.
The two parties exchanged views on the crisis in Sudan due to the rebellion of the dissolved Rapid Support Militia, where the Minister presented the latest developments and reviewed the serious and ongoing violations of the rebel militia.
For his part, the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister affirmed his country’s keenness on Sudan’s sovereignty, safety and territorial integrity, noting the need to seek to stop hostilities in preparation for a political solution.
During the conversation, the two parties discussed the development of bilateral relations between the two countries, coordination and exchange of support in the United Nations and in other international forums.
The situation in the Middle East resulting from the military confrontations between the Palestinians and the Israelis was also reviewed, where the Minister stressing the rights of the Palestinian people and the importance of commitment and adherence to the resolutions of international legitimacy, their right to self-determination, and the establishment of their independent state.
