The Governor of Khartoum, Ahmed Osman Hamza, issued a decision to permanently ban the use of motorcycles within Khartoum State, the decision authorized the commanders of the Military Areas to grant permits for the use of motorcycles in a manner that is required in the interest of work, and holders of permits are excluded from this decision.
The decision grants the authorities of the Regular Forces and the Prosecution the right to implement and enforce the decision and arrest anyone who violates it, in addition to any penalty stipulated in any other law, by confiscating the motorcycle subject to the decision, the competent court may also issue a ruling requiring imprisonment for a period not exceeding 6 months or a fine not exceeding one million pounds, or both penalties, and the competent authorities must put the decision into effect.
